Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 04:56:24 GMT

Bobby Weir has been playing in bands for some 60 years.Yet, the Grateful Dead legend has probably never played in one in the Bay Area quite like the one on Sunday night at the Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford University Campus. The 76-year-old San Francisco native, who was raised in Atherton and has long called Marin County home, was joined onstage by an enormous number of people for this two-set show that drew a full house to one of the most beautiful concert settings in all of California.First off, he was accompanied by his regular Wolf Bros band — with the supersized lineup of Don Was on double bass, Jay Lane on drums, Jeff Chimenti on keyboard and Barry Sless on pedal steel guitar. There was also the Wolfpack, the string and brass quintet of violinist Mads Tolling, cellist Alex Kelly, trumpeter Brian Switzer, trombonist Adam Theis and multi-instrumentalist Sheldon Brown.Yet, surrounding Weir and his Wolf men on three sides was the mammoth Stanford Symphony Orchestra, the ...

You can get her pies and signature “pie holes” via GoldBelly.com and now at Whole Foods markets across the nation. We caught up with this pie phenom recently to talk about her story, her new cookbook — “Pie is Messy” (Ten Speed Press, $28) and how to bake a perfect Thanksgiving pie. 1 in 8 DC-area home sales are falling through

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 04:56:24 GMT

In September, roughly 12% of homes for sale in the D.C. metro that went under contract saw the sale fall through. Nationally, contracts signed to buy a home in September rose, but closed sales fell to the lowest level since the early days of the pandemic, according to Redfin. With rising mortgage rates, a top reason for canceled sales is buyer financing contingencies. The rate they originally qualified for may have gone up, lowering the loan amount they are qualified for by closing time.Buyers may be leaning on inspection contingencies more frequently as well, or discovering problems after making an offer that the seller doesn’t want to repair. For a buyer who cancels a contract, the consequences are not that great.“Back when interest rates were really low and there were multiple offers, one way buyers could get an offer accepted was to put down a lot of earnest money. But buyers don’t need to do that anymore, so when they’re walking away, they’re not walking away from their life savi...

Practice squad player Tommy DeVito finished up.Taylor was held overnight in Hackensack Medical Center for observation. DENVER (KDVR) — They say music is the soundtrack of life. So as the Denver Broncos walked off the field victorious for the first time in 16 tries against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon, Taylor Swift’s hit song “Shake it Off” echoed through a cold, yet jubilant Empower Field at Mile High. After struggles early in the season, can the Broncos shake off the slow start and crescendo toward a late-season push?“We are beginning to develop our identity,” said head coach Sean Payton during his weekly Monday Zoom call.
